From Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, according to the poster of the video, it was a real helicopter accident on the set that they decided to use in the film. Only minor injuries were sustained by the pilot and the two actors aboard.

Somebody’s put together a best-of for cars being destroyed in the first episode of the Discovery Channel’s new show, Smash Lab. I think we’re going to get a lot of mileage from this show.
